GetWCAG + GitHub

Create GitHub issues from full scans or individual violations, automatically

Overview

The GetWCAG GitHub integration gives your team two ways to send accessibility work into GitHub. First, when a scan completes, GetWCAG automatically creates a GitHub issue summarising the full results, affected URLs, WCAG 2.2 criteria, severity levels, and recommended fixes. Second, from inside the GetWCAG dashboard you can export any individual violation as a standalone GitHub issue, pre-filled with all the context a developer needs to fix it.

Key benefits

  • Automatic GitHub issue creation after every completed scan
  • Export any single violation as its own GitHub issue with one click
  • Issues include affected URL, WCAG criterion, severity, and fix guidance
  • Track accessibility work alongside your regular engineering issues
  • No manual copy-pasting, violations flow straight from GetWCAG to GitHub

How to set it up

  1. Go to Integrations in your GetWCAG dashboard
  2. Connect your GitHub account via OAuth
  3. Select the repository where issues should be created
  4. Run a scan, a summary issue is created automatically, or export individual violations from the results view
